Building A Landing Page In 1 Day (Or Less)

This was originally sent as an email to Frame/Reframe subscribers:

Hey there,

Earlier this week, I built a landing page for a client.

I had the copy ready to go for his coaching program…

Then I offered to build him a landing page (so we could re-launch the program faster).

We were both shocked by how the landing page turned out…

His response:

I can’t wait to start testing the page soon.

Ok, but why am I telling you this?

Because I found a way to build one-of-a-kind landing pages using AI and no-code tools. Anyone can do it.

In this email, I’ll walk you through how I built the landing page for my client. Except I’ll use a fictional coaching program instead.

You’ll find this useful if you want to:

  • Graduate from using a Notion or Google doc to having a more polished, branded look for your offer
  • Avoid paying $8,000 for a custom 1-page site
  • Get a one-of-a-kind landing page up and running so you can focus on making sales and delivering great results for your clients

If you’re ready, let’s dive in.

1. The 1-Page Website Builder

Most website builders have too many features (and I believe, charge too much) when it comes to building a simple landing page.

So, I use Carrd.

It ONLY lets you build 1-page sites, so it’s difficult to overcomplicate the process.

You can add elements like a testimonial wall, email opt-in, payment form, timer, or redirect page — anything that’s typical for a landing page.

However, the spacing gets weird if you try to do anything too complicated. So keep it simple.

To build a landing page for our imaginary coaching program, we’ll first pick out a template in Carrd:

Next, we’ll spice up the template…

2. The AI Image Generator

Searching for free-to-use images is a HUGE pain. The best stock photos tend to make their way into other people’s marketing.

ChatGPT is a great solution to this problem.

Especially with the latest DALL·E 3 and data analysis integrations, you can now generate one-of-a-kind images WITHOUT having to write the image prompts yourself.

I find AI useful for visualizing abstract concepts.

However, the images can end up having an “AI aesthetic.” Just make sure this works for you.

Let’s say our fictional coaching program uses a “90/10 Iceberg Method” to help people go from where they are to where they want to be.

To illustrate this with AI:

We’ll first find a couple reference photos online…

Then, we’ll ask ChatGPT to generate an image that combines these 2 reference photos.

Here’s the result:

Incredible, right?

Next, we’ll ask ChatGPT to analyze the 1st image to create a favicon (the little icon that sits on the browser tab). Here’s the result of that:

Seriously amazing to see what AI comes up with.

3. The Signature Color Picker

Color plays a powerful role in marketing.

Having a signature color (or a set of colors) helps your audience recognize and respond to your offer.

Recently, I discovered the digital version of Crayola colors on w3schools.com. It’s great for picking out a signature color. Plus the names are fun and easy to remember.

No more scrolling through endless color palettes.

For our imaginary coaching program, let’s use Radical Red as the signature color.

Next, we’ll go to mycolor.space to generate a few colors that go well with Radical Red.

These colors can be used as section backgrounds or image overlays (to lessen the intensity of an image, which you’ll see in the landing page below).

Finally, we’ll put all the pieces on together.

Here’s what our landing page looks like now:

What’s left is to add the copy and modify the sections to fit the copy.

What do you think?

It only took a couple hours to build this for my client. And it costs around $4/mo to keep the site up and running (and around $5/mo if you add a custom domain using Namecheap).

AI and no-code tools are changing the game for creators, entrepreneurs, and marketers. It’s getting lightning fast to launch and start seeing results from your marketing.
